I know my plate is more than overflowing for this year and I havent had a head start with the challenges either... But, then how can one resist the urge to read/haunt libraries/swell at the mention of new books or new genres..? So, I am joining this challenge at 'CURIOUS' level and trading two books from across challenges -

I am a very new follower of your great blog. Dare I make a suggestion? I'll try anyway, but you are under no obligation whatsoever to read it :-)
Something by Tracy Chevalier? Or I, Claudius by Robert Graves? That is a bit longish though. For a very light but fun read, the Brother Cadfael series by Ellis Peters. I love all the books in that series.
Philippa Gregory is worth trying out for historic fiction if you want a light read :)
Oh , you already got suggestion for Philippa Gregory :) yeah you get a nice cocktail of history+fiction+lighness+everything to get a reader captured
Last year i was like i want to complete all my challenges but this year i know it is wishful thinking LOL!
So i am just joining and HOPING I will be able to finish 'em all.
Good Luck, i loved Michelle Moran's Nefertiti and Cleopatra's Daughter!
